I have to say that I love the "1L"-series, you've done amazing work with it!
I love Patrick’s enthusiasm in these videos. Keep ‘em coming!
I love how the logo is only oriented properly if the unit is vertical, but the port legends are only oriented properly if the unit is horizontal.
I always think what a time to be alive when I see these TinyMiniMicro computers. Years ago I only think of the NUC when building a low consumption server at home. Now we get to enjoy powerful devices like these.
Man, watching these is way better than some silly gadget video. This gotta be my favourite hobbyist corporate hardware influencer channel
The USB and Martial arts comparison made me LOL.
Thanks for these! Project mini micro inspired me to search away from nucs. Now for the price of probably 2 similar nucs I've got 2 dell 5080 micros and 2 hp elitedesk g4 minis running 2 vsphere clusters. Ridiculously cost effective, fairly configurable, and really quiet! Only thing I wish was some sort of pcie access. Sadly about the best I can do for network speed is 2.5gb usb adapters.
I have a 3060 Micro with the i5 8500T. I use it as a desktop and it runs three displays flawlessly. Awesome machines that take up very little place. The ThinkStation Tiny with the Quadro P1000 is very tempting
I love the new format, background and lighting. Works so well for this style of video.
Patrick, have you considered using a different color for the system under consideration in the benchmark bar charts? Might make it a bit easier to pick it out at a glance (especially when the cpu isn't related to the system naming). Enjoying the series, Thanks!
I love the storage situation on this - I can see myself using the 2.5" SATA for a 120GB boot SSD for Proxmox or XCP-ng and then use the two M.2 slots for NVMe local VM storage.
For the USB names, the most ridiculous thing in my opinion is to having renamed old specs to different names like 3.0 to 3.2 Gen 1.
I support several of these at work. They are pretty decent computers. I have one at home that we use as a set top computer.
Absolutely agree with the USB naming it is so confusing now hopefully USB4 will remain simple.
After 3.0, the USB crowd started sniffing glue. Then they peer pressured the HDMI guys into trying it. Only a matter of time before the monitor naming cartel introduces them to the real hard stuff.
Patric i have a stupid question, could you get them 3 x 3 in a 1U Rack slot ya think? 3 wide 3deep or maybe even 4 x 4, i been slowly replacing old servers with things like this thanks to your series and am might impressed with them, but the day is comming they gotta come of the floor and go in the rack spaces they made available
Hey man, love the coverage you’ve been giving on these mini-yet-mighty machines!
Hello Patrick, help. I enjoy listening to your videos and want to understand more about this technology and the various things you review. I just subscribed. Maybe you’ve already done this, but if you could do short primers on the various types of devices, so people like me without a deep background in tech can understand better. The people who are your normal audience probably understand way more than me, and would not be interested in primers. But I could really use them, if there is time. It would also be neat to see these mini machines hooked up to various peripherals to see how they fit into the normal office set up, for us visual learner types. Thank you,
I think part of the reason Lenovo and HP dont use the solid mount SATA port any more is because of flexibility, Lenovo and HP both offer models with PCIe cards and you wouldnt be able to use a PCIE network card/graphics card with these rigid SATA ports on the motherboard.
Hey Patrick,
